The celebration of Jesus’s resurrection cannot be understated. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to you to live a resurrected life. You can access that power by asking Christ into your heart and life; and when you do, he provides the Holy Spirit to enable you to start living a resurrected life. At the moment Christ enters your heart through his Spirit, chaos becomes peace, despair becomes hope, and darkness becomes light.

Living a resurrected life is taking the opportunity to live your life to the fullest for the glory of God. An individual living a resurrected life will reveal the light of Christ through the love, joy, peace, liberty, security, and purpose the Spirit manifests through them. The Holy Spirit is available to each of us, and by trusting in his power, we can live a life that demonstrates to others that Jesus is resurrected and alive today.

Christ’s resurrection from the dead means he is and always will be “I am,” sitting by the right hand of God and ready to accomplish his will. Jesus’ death and resurrection made the Holy Spirit available to anyone who draws near to him in faith. The late Billy Graham said, “Before the resurrection of Christ, the Holy Spirit came upon individuals only on certain occasions for special tasks. But now, after the resurrection, Christ through the Holy Spirit dwells in the heart of every believer to give us supernatural power in living our daily lives."

The Greek word for “equip” in Hebrews 13:21 is katartiza which means to “prepare for a purpose” or to make, create, outfit. The verb is used as “mending what is broken and torn, and putting right what was amiss in the spiritual life of the readers. In this context, God will supply you with what you need to live the Christian life. If you never knew the Lord or are backsliding or do not feel as close to the Lord as you used to be, the author’s prayer is that you will discover him or be restored to your original standing with the Lord.

Dear Jesus, thank you for the resurrected life available to me because of your sacrifice for my sins. Please give me the wisdom and strength to live a powerful life that points others to you. Thank you for equipping me to dig deeper into your word and to share it with others. Amen.

Throughout This Day: Take the time to remember often that the God of the universe lives in you in all the power of the resurrected Christ, giving you all you need by his Spirit to obey him and love him moment by moment.
