“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68

It was a solemn evening of prayer and worship, and God's presence was felt and real. I was in a room full of young adults at a university conference, when suddenly an overwhelming sense of conviction washed over me. For the first time in my life, God spoke to me—and His voice rang loud and clear: “Are you all in?” Without realizing that I was echoing Peter's words, my heart responded: “Jesus, where else would I go?”

Just a few days earlier, my mom received a phone call from her doctor regarding “some suspicious cells”. I felt confused. My friendship with Jesus had taken a turn for the better earlier that year, and now my mom was sick? I knew I was at the cusp of an uphill battle. It wasn’t until that moment that I understood giving my life to Christ meant giving Him everything and everyone I hold on to.

My mom died just 16 months later. The truth that Jesus victoriously conquered death for all is no longer mere words in the pages of Scripture; in fact, it is the most incredible treasure I have ever received! What is your most precious gift?

Jesus, thank You for the gift of faith and for the treasure that is eternal life. Thank You that we can declare victory over death. Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for all that we need. Jesus, today I pray for all of the people who are dying—both physically and spiritually. I pray that they would come to know You and love You. Amen.

Take Action

Is there someone in your life who is battling an illness or caring for someone who is? Show them love in a practical way. Perhaps they would appreciate a surprise coffee run, or a casserole. Ask them how you might pray for them specifically.
