“Yeah, I was always taught that questions were a sign of weak faith,” my friend admitted to me when I ran a Bible lesson idea past her.

I was confused. Why would anyone teach a young girl that? Every Christian has questions and doubts at some point in their lives. But if you’re told they’re signs of weakness, you’re left alone to fight them. You feel like something is wrong with you, so you push them down and pretend they don’t exist. But that’s when they fester.

No, God wants us to bring them into the light! He wants us to bring our questions to him, the only One with answers. And guess what? Because of what Jesus did, we have freedom and confidence to bring them into the light. Because we are covered in the blood of Love himself, we can come before God’s throne of grace.

The veil separating us from the holiness of God has been torn. We have Jesus interceding for us, someone perfect as a go-between. And Jesus gets it. He knows what it’s like to be human. He knows us and he knows from personal experience the temptations we face.

So let’s come before God with the confidence that comes from being covered in the blood of Jesus — the blood of Love. When we come before the throne of grace, we can receive amazing grace and mercy to help us in our weaknesses. Imagine what it would be like to ask for those with confidence. What would we see God do?

Dear Jesus, thank you that I can come before you with confidence. Thank you for sacrificing yourself for me so that I could receive your grace. Help me to stop trying to hide from you, and instead to bring all my struggles into your light. In your name, amen.

Go Deeper — Do you have questions you have been hesitant to ask God? Will you carve out some time today to ask them with an open heart, and then wait for his answer? It may not be immediately, but he will answer.
