The English author John Bunyan, from the 1600’s, said, “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”

This summer, I am joining 3 friends to cycle from Tuktoyuktuk on the Arctic Ocean to Prince Rupert on the Pacific Ocean and then to Halifax on the Atlantic. This epic Sea 2 Sea 2 Sea ride across Canada will take 65 days.

Our purpose is to raise awareness about the need for clean disease-free drinking water. It is estimated that over 1 billion people on this planet do not have access to clean water. As a result, every 90 seconds a child dies from a water related disease. This means 960 children die every day from preventable water related diseases. This is tragic!

We not only want to raise awareness, we want to give people a chance to do something really good. That something is to help us provide 65 villages in Africa with a drilled capped deep well to supply clean disease-free water to the community in partnership with Global Aid Network (GAiN). GAiN is also committed to bringing the Gospel to each of those villages through partnerships with local churches in the area.

Our prayer is to see 65 compassionate individuals or groups of people stand up and say, “I will take a well! We will provide a well to save lives and transform a community.”

Will you join with me and my friends in praying for this project and its eternal impact?

Father, thank you for giving the Cycling4Water team the opportunity to cross Canada to make the need for clean water and your Living Water known to people from sea to sea to sea. Keep them safe, guide them in your paths, and touch hearts throughout their journey. May 65 000 people have access for life to clean water as a result, and also gain access to your Living Water as they hear the Gospel in their own language.

Throughout This Day: Pray for Mike's team whenever you remember them, rejoicing in their continued participation in God’s compassionate mission to the world.
