Throughout this month, we have travelled through the centuries, reflecting on the lives and prayers of those who have gone before us into the Lord's presence.

Some were apostles; some were martyrs; some were missionaries; many were poor, humble, and unknown. They did not always share the same opinions when it came to theology, or rites, or prayer practices. None of them were perfect; yet, we see God using them for his glory.

Despite their differences, they all had one thing in common: a deep, abiding love of God, who manifested himself in Christ.

Their prayers were filled with Scriptural truths, joy, assurance, faith, and love. Through their writings, we discover how diligently they sought to live fully for Christ in all situations, seeking to glorify him in everything they did.

Armed with the example of this cloud of witnesses, let us seek to continue to grow in our practice of God’s presence to the point that we truly pray without ceasing, continually aware that God is with us, and that we are in him.

Lord Jesus, thank you for calling us to be part of this forever family and for preserving so many stories and so many amazing prayers written and prayed by your people over hundreds of years. May we as your beloved people seek each day to be part of your amazing story by walking with you in the Spirit, intent on living fully for you. Amen.

Throughout This Day: Reflect on these questions:
