Time and time again we rush through our daily routines ensuring that everything is in place ready for the next big event or next scheduled task. We take the time needed to dot every “I” and cross every “T,” but in the hustle and bustle of it all we stray away from our original purpose. It becomes so easy to forget to pause and connect daily with our Heavenly Father.

We were chosen to worship God. Worship goes deeper than a church service. It’s a lifestyle choice. We worship God by living out the purpose and the intent that He has created for us here on the Earth. When we fail to take time out to connect with God, we can easily lose sight of who He called us to be and what He has called us to do. We get caught up in our own plans and selfish ambitions instead of fully connecting to His original purpose for our lives.

Have you lost sight of your original intent? My challenge to you today is to follow the instructions of Jesus in John 15:15. Pause from your regular routine and reconnect to the vine. God’s desire for us is to remain vitally united to Him so that we can bear good fruit. He wants us to be effective in our worship and our service unto Him and others.

Father, teach us to worship you in our everyday walk, not just on Sunday mornings. Teach us the importance of pausing from our regular routine to reconnect with you and listen to your heart. You have made available to us everything that pertains to life and Godliness. May we take time to pause and receive from your well of wisdom, love, and grace today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Go deeper — take a moment to just close your eyes, breath deeply and listen. Sometimes we miss what God is saying to us because we fail to pause and reconnect to His heart.
