"The Word became flesh and blood,
    and moved into the neighborhood.
We saw the glory with our own eyes,
    the one-of-a-kind glory,
    like Father, like Son,
Generous inside and out,
    true from start to finish."
John 1:14 (MSG)

Prioritize preparing your heart over preparing your home this week. You've probably got presents to wrap and trees to trim, but before you stress over those things, take some time to read the Nativity story and invite God into your preparations.

Jesus has already given this season its reason to be wonderful.

If you're feeling lonely, financially stretched, rushed, or if you're grieving: remember that Christmas is the love of God up close and personal; quite literally, the birth of our salvation. It's not about you, but it is most certainly for you.

So let the pressure off, and let Jesus in.

Lord, help me to remember that the best thing I can do to prepare for Christmas is to prepare my heart for You. Amen.
