“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB)

The woman felt afraid. The doctor’s words about her condition were so ambiguous. She had just been told to go on living, but she felt a life sentence of fear take hold. She was afraid of the unknown.

Although her situation may not apply to you today in terms of health, every day, believers all over the world struggle with getting past their fear. We ask, “What can I do now, since this is in my path? How can I get around this [named fear]?” Often we are so paralyzed with fear and don’t do much of anything at all, least of all feel God’s peace for the journey.

You can do something different in the face of fear. If you are alive to read this devotional then there is still work to be done in you. You may not know what you are going to do about your heath, finances, relationships, or career today, but there is still much that can be done and should be done.

In today’s verses, God has given us a plethora of reminders of what we can do in lieu of worrying, fearing or sinning. The Holy Spirit that is in every believer can do all of the mighty things above, at no limit, since, as we read, “Against such things there is no law.” God welcomes you to trust Him accomplish what He has called you to do today, in spite of the unknown. Expect Him to give lawlessly.

Dear Jesus,

There are hard things I am faced with, and I am afraid for my future and for those I love. I ask you Lord to come beside my in my fear and remind me to exhibit Your gifts to me in these times. Give me Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Help me to remember that You love me and won’t cause anything to interrupt my life that we can’t handle together. Thank you for the truly countless blessings in my life. May I thrive, remembering all of this today.  Amen

For Your Glory, Amen
