“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14

My finger hovered over the “return” button on my keyboard. Was this the right choice? Did I really want to quit my job, go back to school, and relocate to the other side of the country? I thought for a moment, prayed silently, and felt a peace like none other. I needed to do this. God was asking me to do this.

Have you ever felt God calling you to a certain situation or place, but you were unsure of what exactly you were getting yourself into?

Moses probably felt the way I did, multiplied by 800. God had just delivered the Israelites from the bondage of slavery, and Moses was at the helm, feeling underequipped and inexperienced. After the Golden Calf debacle, God told Moses to go to the land He had promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To which Moses asked, “Who will You send with me, God?”

That’s when the Lord replied:

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

If you’re like me, you often doubt the presence of the Lord to guide you where He calls. But He is there, and He is present.

Father, thank You that You are present in our lives. Give us courage to follow where You lead, and help us to trust that You are with us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
