Resurrection Power

The resurrection of Jesus Christ changed everything. The Christian hope is based on the assumption that Jesus Christ died a physical death and ascended into heaven where, at this moment, he reigns as head of the Church. Through this event, God’s power was displayed; and the amazing thing is that, as Christians, we can experience and benefit from Jesus’ resurrection power every day. 

The Greek word for power is dunamis, which is the root of the word “dynamite.” As followers of Christ, God gives us the explosive power by his Spirit to transform our weaknesses into strengths for his glory. How can you experience the resurrection power? You must let go of past failures and trust in God’s faithfulness instead of living in regret. In Colossians 2:13-14, God says he has canceled every record of the debt we had to pay by allowing Christ to be nailed to the cross. 

Jeremy Camp’s encouraging song “Same Power” is a helpful reminder to Christians that we, too, can obtain resurrection power.

Let the Holy Spirit’s power explode in your life and cancel your past so you can live with resurrection power!

_Dear Lord God, I love you, and I’m so grateful that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ to die for my sins so that I could have eternal life and experience your resurrection power. Help me to live as a new creation, filling my heart with hope so I can bring glory to you! Amen.  _
