"For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6

Find something to do rather than fight. This holiday season, reflect the Prince of Peace. When you're tempted to lose your patience, find a way to serve the person you're upset with.

As long as Christmas includes other people (or the absence of other people), it will be a time with high potential for conflict and anxiety.

But that’s not what the season is about.

Make hot chocolate.
Offer to turn on the Christmas special your family prefers.

Pray for peace in your home.
And be the first to bring it about with your actions.

Father, this season is one of hope, joy, peace, and love for all people; help me to understand that deeply this year. I love You, and I thank You for the gift of this holy season. I don’t want to take it for granted. In Your Son’s holy name, amen.
