“And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.”  Ephesians 3:18

The desire to be loved is instinsic to us all. From the time of our birth, we long for adoration and affection. We ultimately recognize through the pains on the journey of life that only the love of God can fill us like we desperately need.

God’s love is sovereign. 

God’s love reaches beyond the depths of our sin and misery and raises us up to heights of heavenly places. His love is not circumstantial. It is constant, never changing and isn’t validated by what we have or do not have here on the Earth. Rather, His love comes in the form of a person -- Jesus Christ, who made a way for you and me to know Him eternally.

God’s love needs to settle into the depths of our souls. 

“to know this love that surpasses knowledge -- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19

God yearns for us to know His love. We must continue to look to Him to fulfill what only He can. Is it not enough that our Heavenly Father would send His very own son, so we may know His love and love Him in return?

Consider the love that stirred within Jesus to leave His throne in the heavens and come seek us out. In his suffering, Jesus thought of the world; He thought of you with a passion to save you so you could experience His love to be more than enough. 

Heavenly Father, help me know Your love for me. I want to know You and experience You. I open my heart to You today and recognize that You are the only One that can truly fulfill me. Amen.

Take Action

What we ponder throughout our day directly affects how we live. When we reflect on the love of God for us, it dramatically changes our responses towards others in difficult situations. Meditate on God’s love for you today. It is truly amazing!
