To all of the beautiful, blessed mamas out there:
Happy Mother's Day!
With love, The Life Team

“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14

Mothers wait. Worry. Fix things. Then, we worry some more.

As a mom, I’ve had countless seasons where I’ve had to wait. My son, Brett, went through extreme post-concussion syndrome for a three-year period. I prayed constantly while my heart ached like I could never imagine possible. I knew I needed to cling to God’s promise and wait patiently for His timing.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you”.  John 15:7

I knew that I needed to be attentive to the Holy Spirit and respond to Him when He calls me to. One night, Brett’s body began to fail. He texted me thinking that he was actually dying. Immediately, I sensed God nudging me to gather a group of friends to come pray for his healing. Slowly but surely, Brett started to feel the pain recede. And within hours, my son was completely healed and pain free – to this very day!

Being a mom is the most complex, emotional and rewarding role I have. As they grow, I need to learn the balance between doing the things moms do and letting them go. In each season of their life, I need to wait, pray, love and laugh more. God promises that as I abide in Him, He will give me the desires of my heart. That means asking God how He wants me to pray for my children. One of my greatest discoveries has been to have fun with my family.  The years go by so quickly! When I take time to engage in adventures with my children and their spouses - regardless of the age and stage they are in, I’m building memories that will last a life time.  There is huge value for a mom to live, love, and laugh!

Take Action

Be patient and diligent.  It’s not about how or if we will receive the promised blessings. It’s a matter of when. I believe that this level of assurance for God’s promises gives us an amazing level of patience in waiting for His perfect timing. Through this you will grow in intimacy with the Holy Spirit as you learn to listen to Him!
