“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7

There are two truths about life that are vital for you to believe:

First, God is the creator of your life. From the barren dust God formed the complex intricacy of the human body. This body has somewhere between 5 trillion to 50 trillion cells. (If you’re wondering, that’s twelve zeros!) No one is certain about the exact number of cells in a body. We are an amazing pile of dirt and water!

Second, God is also the source of your life. God breathes the oxygen of divine life into our complex formation of cells. Think of it: God’s breath is in us. From the squalling gulps of a newborn to the rattled gasp of the dying – we bear His image. His Spirit indwells us; we are destined to an eternal life.

God is the creator and source of all life. Believing this matters because God has a destiny for your life. God desires an intimate relationship with you that gives meaning to your life.

God, thank You for creating and giving me life. Help me discover the destiny You have for my life, the intimacy You desire with me, and the meaning You give to my life everyday. Amen.
