“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” Revelation 22:7

Have you been disheartened by someone unable to keep a promise? One of life’s unavoidable heartbreaks is experiencing the reality and ramifications of a broken promise. Regrettably, for many people, a promise signifies an empty assurance that is too good to be true. Scripture is full of promises – past, present, and future. Fortunately, God’s promises are infallible.

In today’s fragile and volatile economic, social, environmental, and moral climate, many believers look for their blessed hope – the promise of Jesus’ return. Jesus speaks extensively about returning and reiterates to His followers to be ready, because He promises, “I will come again and receive you to Myself.” (John 14:3, KJV)

Consequently, the disciples’ lives reflected the credibility and certainty of Jesus’ perfect promise. They knew Jesus would return at an appointed time. Paul assures us: “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise…but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, KJV) God never makes promises He cannot keep – that would contradict His nature.

Are you living life as if Jesus’ return is imminent? Time is short. As His betrothed bride, we must intentionally discern the signs of the times and live each day with urgency and expectancy – watching and praying, as a worthy bride prepares and awaits, anticipating her groom’s return. May He find us working faithfully – living life on the assurance of His infallible promise. “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that I can faithfully and completely trust Your Word– Your promises are infallible. Protect me from apathy. Help me to realize time is short and to live life with urgency, integrity, and authenticity – fully realizing that Jesus is coming soon. Amen.
