Make the Life commitment. Commit, through prayer, to make Jesus the centre of your life and to serve and obey Him through the power of the Holy Spirit: any time, anywhere, at any cost, to do anything.
There are many popular effects of receiving the Holy Spirit.
Peace, freedom, joy, and love for example.
Then there are some (arguably) less exciting effects.
Self-control, discipline, prudence, obedience.
Controlling yourself and doing whatever you're told just doesn't seem as appealing to many of us. But what we don't see is that it is in obeying God completely, through His power, that we can find true freedom! Freedom to live the holy and abundant lives He calls us to.
Lord, give me a spirit of obedience so that I can live in Your love. Amen.
