God has empowered you to be an overcomer, a warrior, and a conqueror. No matter what you may be going through or what fears you may have, they do not need to dictate your future.

You are a child of God and, as his child, you have the anointing of his Spirit upon you. He breaks the yokes of bondage which hold you fast. The New Life translation of Luke 24:49 says that you have been “clothed with power from on high”. Think about that.

A civilian who enlists as a soldier is given a uniform to wear which authorizes them for their job. In ancient times, the uniform was often armor. In the same way, you should be dressed in the Holy Spirit who protects and equips you with the tools necessary to overcome Satan’s lies.

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). What is this armor? Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:14-17 that it is cloaking yourself in faith, truth, and peace by wrapping your day in the Word of God.

Just as we dress according to the weather each day to go out into the world, it’s important to be clothed by the Spirit and God’s Word daily. Let God wrap you with the love, power, and peace of his Spirit again and again. You will never be the same once you do.

Dear Lord, help me to daily clothe myself with faith, your Word, righteousness, and truth. Just as I dress my body for the day, let me also dress my soul for your work. Amen.
