You’re awesome!

“You are a writer, an athlete, an inventor, an artist, a musician, a technician … and these talents will change people. […] You are full of more amazing qualities, traits, and virtues than you could imagine, given to you by the Lord who loves you.”

Is that how you see yourself? Or do doubts still veil how awesome you are?

Not good enough. Not talented like that other guy. Still sinning too much. A screw-up.

It’s time to shut out the lies. Here’s the truth about you:

You were saved by Jesus free of charge. He paid the price. You may think you’ve fallen too far or too often, but the cross of Christ is greater. You may doubt your capability, but God, the ultimate creative genius, crafted you wonderfully and has recreated you in Christ. You are his work of art. He’s already lined up a whole bunch of ways for you to touch the world with your gifts.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-10).

God is at work healing you, and he delights in using you to point others to him. That is where your greatness lies. You are most truly alive when you are trusting Christ to live in and through you in the power of his Spirit (Ephesians 3:16-21).

God’s opinion is what really matters. Proclaim the truth about who you really are. Say it out loud:

“I am a son of the living God. Treasured, entrusted, and loved above all things by the Creator of all things for the glory of the one who is greater than all things. I am awesome!”
