One of the most persistent questions from the time we’re toddlers till we are old is “Why?” So often this question is a search for meaning. Why is it so important to us to find meaning, to make sense of our lives?

Erwin McManus states, “Searching for meaning is like breathing. It is something intrinsic to the human spirit.” Do you agree or disagree? Why?

How do you recognize the truth?

Is every life of value? Does every life have significance, even that of the weak, the helpless, those who “cannot contribute anything”?

Is there a difference between God and religion? Can you connect to God without religion?

In the face of personal or widespread disappointment, problems or tragedy, we often ask questions such as, "Why?" or "How long?" Where do you turn with these questions?

If one is here for a purpose, what are the consequences of ignoring that purpose?

If one’s life has meaning or purpose, how does a person know that purpose? Is it something that we decide or that we discover?

Are there additional thoughts or unanswered questions that you have as a result of this study?
